Look forward to a variety of home-made dishes that will make your holiday an unforgettable experience! Quality and sustainability are important to us and is a noticeable feature of cuisine. Local, seasonal and healthy from morning to evening.
Our Origins on the Plate
Regionality is at the heart of our daily work at Langeshof. Many of our ingredients come from our own farm, Adele’s garden, and from trusted local farmers and selected producers in South Tyrol. The result is a seasonal cuisine with a clear regional character. The majority of our food comes directly from our family farm: Look forward to fresh vegetables and aromatic herbs grown in our garden, meat and eggs from our farm, and homemade jams, juices, and vinegars, all prepared with great care. Depending on the season, wild fruits, berries, mushrooms, and herbs from the woods and mountains enrich our dishes, bringing the diversity of nature to your plate. This is complemented by selected South Tyrolean producers known for quality and genuine craftsmanship, including the Altrei Lupine Coffee Growers' Association, Kirnig in Aldein with their gourmet mushrooms, and the beekeeper Alfons Zanin. Typical South Tyrolean specialties also find their place in our kitchen: milk and dairy products from the Sterzing Dairy Cooperative, beer from the Klosterbräu craft brewery in Pietralba, and carefully selected wines—including those of the Alois Lageder and Pfitscher wineries.
Short supply chains, personal relationships, and the transparent origin of the products define our daily work. This results in an authentic, seasonal cuisine that is deeply rooted in the region and reflects the flavors of South Tyrol.

SPECIALITY AND RARITY FROM ALTREI
THE VOLTRUIER LUPIN - WHAT IS IT?
The so-calledVoltruier Lupineis a coffee substitute made from the seeds of the lupine (Lupinus pilus) that grows here. Due to the acidic and sandy nature of the soil, the lupine thrives in Altrei.
Until the 1960s, this drink was consumed as a coffee substitute and was mixed with barley, before coffee beans became more popular. However, the Voltruier lupine continued to be cultivated, and at the turn of the millennium the plant was rediscovered and cultivated again.
The Voltruier lupine is also refined into beer and schnapps as well as chocolate and cheese and processed into desserts and pasta.
The tourist association organises weekly tours and tastings of products made from lupine.
DISTINGUISHED!
Voltruier lupine has been a Slow Food "Presidio" since December 2022. These are projects initiated by Slow Food to protect small, high-quality productions that preserve traditional food craftsmanship.
